Meet Salman Aziz also known as Akash/AKA$H, Author of 6th September: A Very Unknown Mysterious Story the new exciting Coming of age Novel Released on July 20th, 2017.
-Now, Salman, I understand your novel is an ebook. Tell us more about yourself and your book
Thank you! I am just an average guy from Bangladesh who dares to dream big to fit in worldwide as an artist and author. At a young age, I started to write. At that time, I wrote for my school magazines and some local newspapers. Then I wrote for my blogs. Also, I was a model at an early age. By publishing this book, I became an independent author internationally. And for my short film “Lost in the Black Hole” (first-ever symbolic cult horror short film in Bangladesh), I became an indie artist and film maker. When talking about this book, I must say that it is completely based on a real event.
-Impressive! What inspired you to write this book?
The events itself pushed me to write the book. Actually, everything happened in front of my eyes which I can’t forget. By changing the name of the persons, I decided to tell what really happened. In here, the main lead Aabrar Rahman, an introvert shy talented guy who killed himself to free from his inner pains. And the mystery remains folded when his diary went lost mistakenly. It was just the beginning.
-Sounds Interesting! What was the main challenge you faced when creating your book?
Yes, I faced many problems during creating and after publishing the book! While writing the book I was so anxious and depressed cause there was always a question in my mind that, “am I writing the book exactly how it should be?” And after publishing the book I faced major backlash from people all over the world. Cause my skin color, my country, and my religion became a problem for people, especially foreign people. Honestly, I am still facing racism in this art and literature world. As an artist and author, I wasn’t welcomed friendly and cordially by the people. But only for a few people’s support and love, I am able to put my name on this international platform.
-Very True! How do you stand out from your competition?
Honestly, I haven’t competed with anyone with anything! In this art and literature world, I have seen people are competing with each other unnecessarily. I believe that everyone has their own unique way to create artistic works. I will strongly recommend every artist and author to work together by supporting each other! It will develop unity among us worldwide.
-That’s a fresh and genuine point of view, I like it! Are you a huge reader yourself? And what do you usually read? Any favorites?
Yes, I love to read a lot when I get free time! I usually read those things which are related to life. I have no specific genre while it’s about reading! I read all types of books, but yes, I don’t like too much erotic or romantic books.
-Tell us, what is your next step as an author?
As an author, I want to try almost all types of the genre! Even I am already doing it on my next upcoming book which is completely different! The book is kind of a mega mix of everything! I am also into my quotes which people find those inspiring, motivating, and full of truth and reality! And yes, I would love to collaborate with other artists and authors to create something great!
-Great! Do you have any tips or advice for other aspiring indie authors?
I would love to say that “If you really want to be something then at first try to be at least. But don’t try to be at most in the first step.” I know we all should dream big. But first, all should start from the beginning. And, yes all should not confine themselves in one thing! They should try different things to find out which one is the best for them. In this way, they will able to find out their inner artistic mind. And also want to advise them to be authentic to themselves. Cause, I have seen many authors are trying to copy others. Even some of them are stealing others’ works to use as their works. But, in this way, they won’t be able to create themselves as authentic! They should trust their inner self. I know, in this path many will not face success. But they should keep trying different things and work hard!
-That is great advice! Is there anything else you would like to add?
Of course! In this global art and literature world, all artists and authors should get a chance to show their talents. And I am expecting all kinds of support for them from everyone. In this art world, none should be judged by their skin color, religion, country, or anything! It must be stopped! It only creates discrimination among us and puts us in hate. People should treat all the artists and authors as human beings! I want to conclude by saying Mother Teresa’s words, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.”
That’s awesome, thank you Salman Aziz for those great insights! We all wish you the best of luck, and we look forward to seeing your next piece of work.
