ABOUT THE AUTHOR LEVISON WOOD 

Levison Wood is an author, picture taker, and voyager, who has gone in more than 80 nations, recording the excursions of ancestral people groups and minority gatherings. He served in Afghanistan as an official in the British Army Parachute Regiment and is prime supporter of Secret Compass, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and an International Fellow of the Explorers Club. His work has highlighted in worldwide distributions around the globe including National Geographic, Discovery Channel Magazine, and on CNN, Channel 4, and the BBC. When not abroad, he lives in London.

Levison Wood is a best selling known author, pilgrim, and picture taker who has voyage and worked in more than eighty nations around the globe; he is a talented personality with the Royal Geographical Society and an International Fellow of the Explorers Club.

He likewise served in Afghanistan as an Officer in the British Parachute Regiment.

His work has been highlighted in National Geographic and Discovery Channel Magazine, and on CNN and the BBC. The Wall Street Journal stated, “Mr. Wood’s enthusiasm, just as his gifts as an author, lie . . . in discovering ‘what life resembled in the corners of this world that don’t generally make it known as our features’ and in catching the character and flaws of the individuals who occupy them.”

Levison Wood is a professional discoverer, writer and a well-known photographer. He served for 12 years as an Officer in the British Parachute Regiment, including an operational deployment to Afghanistan fighting against Taliban insurgents in Helmand and Kandahar. Since 2015, Levison has written six award-winning books, all of which have been translated into several languages and published internationally. Walking the Himalayas won Adventure Travel Book of the Year at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards (2016).

Walking the Nile and Walking the Americas were both bestseller books of him. His five TV series to date have been broadcast and distributed in over 100 countries worldwide. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the Explorers Club and visiting Fellow at CASS business school.
