Jio increases prepaid plan prices up to 40 percent, and will give 300 percent additional benefits


Reliance Jio on Sunday made an announcement of their new upcoming “All-in-one” or AIO plan, which is priced 40% higher than current plans. Jio also said to give up to 300% more benefits. These new plans will be active from December 6 2019.

However, the company hasn’t provided any further details about its new AIO plan. Jio is India’s largest telecom firm with more than 355 million customers. The press statement came on Sunday evening after Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel announced their respective tariff plans hikes up to 42%.


The company said that it is determined to “benefit Indian consumers and take measures including [an] appropriate increase in tariffs in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments.”

“While remaining committed to the ultimate interest of the consumer, Jio will take all necessary steps to help sustain the Indian telecommunications industry,” the company said in the statement.

Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel’s new plans will come into the effort from Tuesday, December 3. The updated plans of Vodafone will be available between Rs 149 to Rs 2,399, and the company also introduced an unlimited prepaid plan at Rs19 to offer 150 MB data and unlimited voice calling on Vodafone Idea network for two days. Similarly, the Bharti Airtel plans starts from Rs 19 and goes up to Rs 1,99. The operator also claimed that the new traffic plan will be in the range of 50 paise per day to Rs 2.85 per day.
